For a time Lithuania had dangerous secrets… But as Soviet union fell and everything was taken away, just buildings and infrastructure stayed. So now let’s discover all the abandon Nuclear sites, that 30 years ago were holding the most destructible weapons in the world!
During this trip we will visit two, extremely unique objects in whole Baltic states region: Soviet missile silo base located at the western part of Lithuania and nuclear underground shelter, turned into Soviet museum, located in Kaunas.
Description
As history shows – Lithuania and all the Baltic countries always were the most western point for Soviet union. For this reason we were considered one of the most militarised zones that had most destructible weapons in our territory…. the Nuclear weapons…. As time passed, the Soviet union broke down, military personnel left and all the weapons were taken away, but the buildings and infrastructure stayed. So with huge excited we invite you to discover all the abandon Nuclear sites, that now are turned into new and exciting military history museums!
During this trip you will visit not one, but two exciting objects connected to the dark and secret Nuclear history of Lithuania – Underground Plokštinė nuclear missile base and Nuclear underground shelter museum in Kaunas! During all the event guided tours will be conducted in English.
Main information:
>> In the Underground Plokštinė nuclear missile base we will 2 hours guided tour;
>> Visiting Nuclear underground shelter museum in Kaunas we will 1,5 hours tour;
>> This trip will last for a whole day, as we will travel in total 500 km;
>> During the lunch time we will try out some Military ration packs!
